Mozambique Healthcare Summit 2025 – Strengthening Africa’s Health Systems through Innovation and Local Production
The Mozambique Healthcare Summit 2025 was a landmark international event held from 30 to 31 July 2025 in Maputo, Mozambique, dedicated to advancing the local production of medicines and the research and development of health technologies. The summit aimed to foster innovation, self-reliance, and sustainability in health systems across Mozambique and the broader African region.
The event brought together a distinguished group of participants, including:

- H.E. Dr Ussene Hilário Isse, Minister of Health of Mozambique
- Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Director-General of the World Health Organization (WHO)

- Academics, pharmaceutical industry leaders, and international health experts
Throughout the summit, participants engaged in high-level discussions on strategic pathways to promote pharmaceutical sovereignty, encourage local innovation, and enhance public health resilience on the continent.
Representing MozBioMed.AI, Dr. Alexandre de Fátima Cobre (CEO) took the stage to showcase how artificial intelligence is revolutionizing the discovery of new medicines, as well as the development and monitoring of diagnostic tools. His presentation highlighted the organization’s contributions to accelerating treatment access, improving diagnostic precision, and supporting data-driven decision-making in public health.
The summit reinforced Mozambique’s commitment to becoming a regional hub for health innovation, and MozBioMed.AI’s participation emphasized the vital role of AI-driven solutions in this transformation.
