Health Worker AI Training

Empowering Community Health Workers with AI Tools

One of the most critical challenges in African healthcare is the shortage of trained medical professionals, particularly in rural and underserved regions. At MozBioMed.AI, we believe artificial intelligence can amplify the capabilities of frontline health workers, improving care without requiring specialist presence.

The Project

This initiative focuses on developing and deploying simplified AI tools—including symptom checker apps, predictive models, and mobile diagnostic platforms—tailored for community health workers.

We also design and deliver hands-on training sessions to help non-specialist providers:

  • Use AI tools effectively in the field
  • Improve patient triage and referral decisions
  • Monitor and manage chronic and infectious diseases

Capacity Building for the Future

  • Beyond just technology, this project emphasizes skills development and health system strengthening, offering:
  • Workshops and digital literacy modules
  • Feedback loops for continuous improvement
  • Localized training content in collaboration with public health institutions

Impact

  • Bridges the human resource gap in rural settings
  • Supports task-shifting with AI-based decision support
  • Enhances patient outcomes by guiding more accurate and timely interventions
  • Aligns with WHO and African Union recommendations for digital health empowerment

Project Status

Planning Phase (2025): Currently seeking implementation partnerships with Ministries of Health, NGOs, and training institutions

Pilot expected to launch in high-need provinces as a scalable model for AI-assisted primary care

We understand the importance of approaching each work integrally and believe in the power of simple.
